Year 2 Residents
Mohammad Fidahusain, MD, MPH
The curiosity to learn about the intricacies of the human body and a compassion toward those suffering from disease, inspired Dr. Fidahusain to pursue a career in medical sciences. He attended medical school in his home country, Pakistan, after which he decided to pursue further specialty training in the US. His desire to be able to deal with the widest age group of patients convinced him to pursue Family Medicine Residency, which he attended at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Given the importance of addressing population based aspects of health conditions, he then pursued residency training in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Rochester in New York. He then achieved Board Certification in Prev Med and Public Health.
He commenced his career in independent clinical practice with the largest Occupational Medicine Organization in the US, Concentra, where he served for 4 years as a Float Physician in the State of WA, covering multiple clinics, where he treated multiple work related injuries, provided urgent care and conducted pre-employment physicals. After that he served as an Occupational Medicine Physician for almost 2 years at The Everett Clinic in WA area.
Being involved more deeply with work injuries, sparked an even deeper interest in the field of Occupational Medicine, where he feels there is a lot more to learn and research. Hence, he entered Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency training at the University of Washington where he thinks he will be able to successfully achieve his goals.
His specific interests in OEM are managing infectious and chemical exposures in occupational settings and toxicology.
Having a background in Public Health, he looks forward to working in an academic setting which will provide him with a leverage to function both as a Public Health as well as an Occupational and Environmental Medicine expert, conducting research and passing his skills on to the still younger generation, while still being involved in direct patient care.
His personal interests outside of work include sightseeing and hiking, painting landscapes, and reading books.
