Harborview Medical Center
Harborview Medical Center is a primary inpatient and outpatient teaching location for Addiction Medicine fellows.
It is a publicly owned county medical center managed by UW Medicine, serving the county's medically underserved population and it is the only Level I trauma, burn, and neuroscience center in the Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho (WWAMI) region.
All staff are employees of the University of Washington, and the physician staff are all faculty of the UW. Fellows will rotate on the inpatient Addiction Medicine Consultation Service and in multiple outpatient settings, including primary care (Adult Medicine Clinic), specialty addiction treatment (Harborview Addictions Program) clinics, and affiliated clinics in the community (Hobson Clinic and outreach in permanent supportive housing buildings.)
King County Public Health – Downtown Clinic
The Downtown Public Health Center is a primary outpatient teaching location for Addiction Medicine fellows. It is owned by King County, and all staff and physicians are county employees. Fellows will rotate in the Buprenorphine Pathways low-threshold outpatient clinic, which is co-located with a syringe access program.
VA Puget Sound Health Care System
The VA Puget Sound Health Care System is a primary inpatient and outpatient teaching location for Addiction Medicine fellows.
It is federally owned and operated, and all staff and physicians are federal employees. University of Washington Faculty members also have appointments with the VA.
Fellows will rotate on the Inpatient Addiction Treatment service, the outpatient Addiction Treatment Center, and on the Addiction Medicine Consultation Service.
University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake
The University of Washington Medical Center – Montlake (UWMC – Montlake) is an elective outpatient teaching location for Addiction Medicine fellows.
UWMC – Montlake is owned by UW Medicine, and staff and physicians are UW employees.
Fellows who choose the Pain and Addiction elective will rotate in the Center for Pain Relief, an outpatient multidisciplinary clinic focusing on interventional and multidisciplinary pain care.
