Research Interests
Dr. Fahey is an epidemiologist and implementation scientist who studies social drivers of health outcomes across the life course. The overarching goal of her research is to identify scalable interventions that improve population health and reduce health disparities, particularly from within health care delivery settings. Her work has evaluated the effectiveness and optimal implementation of strategies to promote HIV treatment adherence, including economic incentives, mobile health technology (mHealth), and predictive analytics. Her current research focuses on the intersection of aging and HIV. She has a K01 career development award from the National Institute on Aging to study neighborhoods and frailty in people with HIV using machine learning methods. She also received a CFAR New Investigator Award to develop and validate a proactive frailty risk assessment tool using mixed methods.
