Biography
Maralyssa Bann, MD is a hospitalist at Harborview Medical Center where she has previously served as Director of Hospital Medicine and as Associate Medical Director for Acute Care. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and holds a faculty appointment as Associate Professor in the UW Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Bann specializes in inpatient care that emphasizes equity, harm reduction, and patient-centeredness. Her academic/research efforts focus on studying hospital-based healthcare delivery in a safety net setting and she has served as Associate Editor for the Journal of General Internal Medicine since 2024. She teaches several courses at the undergraduate level related to US healthcare systems and health policy, as well as international comparisons. Additionally, she mentors students and trainees throughout the UW system.
