Training

All UW employees are required to attend and complete the training sessions below. New employees should complete training approximately within 30 days of their first day. Please email a PDF copy of the training completion certificate for all online training modules to the Staff HR Manager, Rhea Quimson.

Prevention of Sexual Harassment Training
All newly hired employees are required to attend this training session. Register online for prevention of sexual harassment training.

Violence Prevention
This is a 60-minute training workshop, facilitated by UW’s SafeCampus. To register for Violence Prevention and Response training, visit the SafeCampus website.

Reporting Suspected Child Abuse 
Employees complete this training online by watching a 30-minute video developed by Compliance and Risk Services.

Asbestos Awareness
The Environmental Health and Safety office offers online asbestos awareness training. This training takes about 30 minutes. Employees must correctly answer a series of quiz questions at the end of an online presentation.

HIPAA
New employees must complete HIPAA training. The HR Manager will send new employees a login ID, instructions, and the link for training. 

Human Subjects Training
Newly hired staff that work as a part of a research team will need to complete the Human Subjects Training. Users must create a new account and select the University of Washington as their institution. Once registered, select "CITI Basic Course (UW)." If asked for a sub-category, select the appropriate category according to your position. After completing the training, save a PDF of your certificate for future reference, and CITI will notify the UW Human Subjects Division when the courses have been completed.

Workday (formerly Employee Self-Service)

You can update your W-4, sign up for direct deposit, print W-2 statements, update your address and other information, view pay stubs, and view your sick and vacation balances online through Workday. (Sign in via the Integrated Service Center.)
