Addiction Medicine Fellowship

The UW Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program, housed at Harborview Medical Center, is an ACGME-accredited training program for physicians seeking advanced training in Addiction Medicine.

The UW Medical Student Addiction Research (MedStAR) Program is an NIH-funded research training program for medical students that provides longitudinal support and mentorship of clinical addiction research projects.

Team-based Substance Use Disorder Training Program

The Center for Health Sciences Interprofessional Education coordinates an interprofessional training program for enhancing the knowledge and skills of UW health sciences students from all six schools (Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Social Work) who are interested in substance use disorders. 


Opioid Use Disorder Clerkships

Harborview Medical Center offers clinical experiences in opioid use disorder for UW medical students during their fourth year of training. Students spend most of their time on the interprofessional HMC Addiction Consult Service, but also rotate at a syringe service program, opioid treatment program, mutual support groups, and an office-based opioid treatment program.
