Dr. James LoGerfo, professor emeritus, received the Distinguished Retiree Excellence in Community Service Award. This award, created in 2012, is designated to honor a retired UW faculty or staff member for excellence in service that exemplifies the University’s values with special distinction. The award is based on the individual’s contributions subsequent to retirement in service to the community, whether local, regional, or national. This award celebrates quality of service and its overall impact. It is a reflection of Dr. Logerfo's strong commitment to improving health.
Professor LoGerfo and other award recipients will be honored at the University's 49th Annual Awards of Excellence Ceremony on June 13, 2019 in the Katharyn Alvord Gerlich Theater in Meany Hall at 3:30 PM with a reception to follow. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at the reception.
