GIM’s Academic Hospitalist Fellowship completed its inaugural program year with the graduation celebration of fellow Dr. Diana Zhong on July 11. Dr. Zhong is now continuing her career with UW as an Acting Instructor with GIM. The Fellowship Program Director is Dr. Somnath Mookherjee. Additional fellowship faculty include Dr. Andrew White, UW Director of Hospital Medicine Programs, and Dr. Helene Starks, GIM’s Academic Research Coach.
The new fellowship provides early career hospitalists with the core skills in quality improvement, teaching, and research needed to become successful clinician-educators and leaders in academic hospital medicine. The goal is for graduating fellows to develop successful, enriching careers in academic hospital medicine.
The current fellow, Emily Grossniklaus, began her appointment on July 1. Dr. Grossniklaus completed her MD at Emory University and her internship and residency at UW.
