The Department of Medicine has formed its inaugural Gender Equity Council (GEC), with Associate Professor Susan Merel as the chair. Stephanie Timm, the Dermatology residency and fellowship programs administrator, is co-chair.
The GEC will advise the Department Chair on matters related to gender equity, make recommendations to ensure an equitable and inclusive environment in the department, and plan and implement activities that promote gender equity.
GIM Associate Professor and VA Puget Sound Chief of Staff Catherine Kaminetzky is also a council member.
