Clinical Instructor Eric LaMotte and Clinical Assistant Professor Dawn Taniguchi have received Expert Teacher Track Awards (formerly known as the Stern Teaching Awards) from the DGIM. The award was originated and is administered by Dr. Douglas Paauw, director of Medicine Student Programs. It provides protected time for one year for junior faculty members to hone their teaching skills while working with senior faculty mentors.

Dr. LaMotte will focus on refining his teaching of bedside physical exam skills with residents and students. Dr. Taniguchi will create an online homeless healthcare curriculum for medical students and residents.
