The ITHS sponsors monthly lectures and workshops that provide early stage investigators with tools, a discussion forum, and educational opportunities to help further their careers.

On October 31, 2018, Dr. Amory will lecture on scientific publishing.

Dr. John Amory, professor, will present “A perspective on publishing your research in academic journals,” in which he provides an overview of the process of manuscript preparation. From the perspective of an author, reviewer, and editor, he will suggest ways to improve the quality of your manuscript and the likelihood of it being accepted for publication in the scientific literature. A group discussion of authorship dilemmas will follow.

On November 8, 2018, Dr. Gallagher will discuss effective research management strategies.
Dr. Thomas Gallagher, professor and associate chair, and Jennifer Sprecher, ITHS Director of Lean, will co-present "Supercharge your research team: the Lean skills every PI should know," about the use of Lean methodology in leadership for creating a high performance research team. They will share the latest on how to improve Lean leadership skills and tools in three key areas: vision sharing, effective team communication, and continuous improvement.
