Residents receive a stipend, competitive with other national residency programs per the UW Medicine stipend schedule. Please note: Unless special funds are identified, stipend support is limited to US citizens and permanent residents.

In addition to the stipend, the following is provided by the Residency Program:

  • Tuition and fees for the MPH degree
  • Professional liability coverage
  • Medical license fee reimbursement
  • Robust benefits package
  • Travel to one professional meeting per year

Note that residents in the Occupational & Environmental Medicine Residency Program are supported by the Northwest Center for Occupational Health & Safety (NWCOHS). Residents under this type of funding are appointed as Sr. Fellow Trainee (0442), which determines eligibility for certain benefits.

Other details about benefits and information about life in Seattle are available on the UW Medicine Residents & Fellows website.
