Dr. Cassedy Mahrer Owen completed medical school at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO and graduated from an Internal Medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. She is thrilled to be joining the University of Washington as the Academic Hospitalist Fellow for 2021–2022.
Her fellowship will be based out of the Harborview Medical Center, as she feels a strong commitment to working with underserved, vulnerable, and medically complex populations. Her academic interests include examining bias and race in medicine and medical education, improving EHR systems, and enhancing communication between care teams and patients. When not working at the hospital, she enjoys reading library books with her newborn son and husband, watercolor painting, hiking, playing ukulele, and gourmet cooking.
